JITTERBUG CELL PHONE AND SERVICE NAMED WINNER OF
TODAY’S CAREGIVER MAGAZINE’S 2009 CAREGIVER FRIENDLY® AWARD

San Diego, Calif. – June 18, 2009 – Today’s Caregiver, the first national magazine for all family and professional caregivers, and caregiver.com announced the 2009 Caregiver Friendly® Award recipients. The Caregiver Friendly® Awards are designed to celebrate products, services, books and media created with the needs of caregivers in mind.

The Jitterbug cell phone and service was named a winner in the Product category of The Caregiver Friendly® Awards.

Since its November 2006 debut, the Jitterbug cell phone has been praised for its high-touch customer service and smart features. The Jitterbug phone is easy to use and operator and web services are tailored to provide customers and caregivers with personalized support. Live operators are available to assist users 24 hours a day, and answer each call with a friendly, personalized greeting. Additional simple and helpful features include a patented design that delivers clear sound by reducing outside noise, large, backlit buttons and a bright screen and large text that provide an especially easy-to-use and customizable service experience.

Awards will be presented at Today’s Caregiver magazine’s Fearless Caregiver Conference, to be held in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Award winners will also be profiled in the July/August issue of Today’s Caregiver and on the magazine’s website, caregiver.com.

“We’re very proud to be named ‘Caregiver Friendly,’ as this award truly acknowledges our company’s commitment to our customers and to their care,” said Arlene Harris, Jitterbug founder and Chairwoman. “Whether for a child, an in-need friend or family member, our phones and services provide peace of mind by helping our customers stay independent, and most importantly, connected.”

The Jitterbug cell phone’s unique healthcare applications, like the new LiveNurse offering that gives customers 24-hour access to registered nurse practitioners for medical advice, makes the service even more valuable to caregivers and their loved ones. While still in testing, Jitterbug is also leading a wireless health revolution with a medication reminder program that will soon be added to the company’s growing optional-services lineup.

“The average caregiver is responsible for over $40,000 in health related expenditures each year, in either personal or directed funds,” says Gary Barg, Today’s Caregiver magazine’s Editor-in-Chief. “This award is designed to help family caregivers recognize and reward those organizations who will care for them in as committed a manner as they care for their loved ones.”
