Company Award in 5th Annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business
San Diego, Calif. – November 24, 2008 – GreatCall, Inc., creators of the Jitterbug simple cell
phone and service, announced today that the company and its Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors,
Arlene Harris, were named the winner in the “Best Overall Company – Service Businesses” category at the
5th Annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business.
The 2008 Stevie Awards for Women in Business is an international competition recognizing the accomplishments
of outstanding women executives, business owners, and the organizations they run. The awards are produced
by the creators of the prestigious American Business AwardsSM.
Stevie Awards were handed out in categories including Best Entrepreneur, Best Executive, Lifetime Achievement,
and Women Helping Women at the gala event at New York’s Marriott Marquis Hotel on November 14. More than 1,200
entries from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration.
GreatCall and Arlene Harris, winners of “Best Overall Company,” joined finalists in that category including
APCO Worldwide of Washington, D.C., Northbound, LLC in Sunnyvale, CA, and Royal Neighbors of America based
in Rock Island, IL. GreatCall and Ms. Harris were also named finalists in the “Technology Innovator of the
Year” category.
