Seniors And Emergency Cell Phone TrendsThe majority of people in America at least have an emergency cell phone, and many people think of their cell phones more like everyday tools. Having an emergency cell phone has proven to be useful for 74 percent of Americans, who say that they have used their phones in emergencies and benefited. Senior citizen cell phones are used much less frequently, though, and most seniors don't even have one. Only 64 percent of senior citizens say they have actually used their emergency cell phone for an emergency. This could be because they were not familiar or comfortable with their emergency cell phone, and they should have had a product that was simpler and easier to use. This is why there are senior citizen cell phones on the market that make it as easy to use a cellular phone as it is to use a traditional landline. It is not as necessary for senior citizen cell phones to have extra features like text messaging and game-playing, because most seniors don't want to use these features. In fact, only 20 percent of seniors that have an emergency cell phone say that they also use the phone in their free time. Senior citizen cell phones are now being designed, however, that only have basic features such as large buttons with brightly lit numbers, and none of the superfluous functions that will just go unused.
